Where to Land: Understanding Bali's Coworking Districts

Canggu: The Digital Nomad Capital

Ground zero for digital nomads: the most coworking spaces, the best cafes and the liveliest networking. It can feel touristy and crowded, so choose it if you want community and do not mind the bustle.

Ubud: For the Creatives and Wellness Warriors

About an hour and a half inland, Ubud is the place to reset. Spaces are smaller and surrounded by rice terraces instead of traffic. WiFi can be slightly less reliable than in Canggu, but writers and designers love the calm.

Seminyak & Sanur: The Balanced Alternatives

Seminyak sits between the beach and Canggu's chaos; Sanur, further south, is peaceful and beach-adjacent. Both have solid coworking and a more settled community, great for working by day and surfing at sunset.

If surfing is part of the plan, our guide to the best surf spots for digital nomads covers Canggu and Uluwatu with season and level.

The Best Coworking Spaces in Bali: Detailed Reviews

In short: Four spaces we could verify are open in September 2026: Outpost (Ubud), Tropical Nomad (Canggu), BWork (Canggu) and Biliq (Seminyak).

Update, September 2026: several names you still see in older Bali guides are gone or could not be confirmed. Dojo Bali in Canggu officially closed in December 2022, and Hubud in Ubud says on its own website that it is closed until further notice. Outpost also no longer lists a Canggu or Lombok location on its own site, only two Ubud campuses (plus a site in Sri Lanka). We could not find an official website, Google Maps or OpenStreetMap listing for "Livit Hub", "Kasama" or "Sun Desk" either, so we removed them and replaced them with spaces we could verify are open in September 2026.

1. Outpost (Ubud)

Location: Ubud, two campuses: Nyuh Kuning and Penestanan (destinationoutpost.co, checked September 2026)
Pricing: IDR 120,000/day; monthly memberships vary by plan
WiFi Speed: 80-100 Mbps
Vibe: Social, events-heavy, digital nomad community

The social butterfly of Bali coworking: weekly events, happy hours, skill-shares and workouts around a beautiful courtyard in Ubud. Members tend to stay and make real friends. The social energy can distract from deep work and the WiFi stutters at peak hours, but it is the best place to meet people fast if you are new.

2. Tropical Nomad (Canggu)

Location: Canggu
Pricing: IDR 100,000/day; monthly from IDR 1.8M
WiFi Speed: 100+ Mbps
Vibe: Casual, relaxed, backpacker-friendly

The hangout spot where work happens: less party than Outpost, with a small cafe, communal tables and comfortable workstations. Excellent WiFi, fair prices, long-term nomads rather than day visitors, and a rooftop that works well for calls.

3. BWork (Canggu)

Location: Jl. Nelayan, Canggu, with a second space in Uluwatu
Pricing: IDR 299,000/day (IDR 199,000 with an Indonesian ID); 1 month unlimited IDR 3,850,000 (bwork.id, checked September 2026)
WiFi Speed: 90+ Mbps
Vibe: Professional, startup-friendly, serious workers

Where founders and serious entrepreneurs work: investor calls, pitches, product building. Top facilities (fast WiFi, meeting rooms, kitchen, phone booths) at slightly higher prices, ideal if you meet clients.

4. Biliq Coworking Space (Seminyak)

Location: Seminyak (biliqbali.com, checked September 2026)
Pricing: From IDR 500/minute pay-as-you-work, roughly IDR 240,000 for an 8-hour day
WiFi Speed: Not published; ask for a speed test on your day pass
Vibe: Flexible, pay-per-minute, beach-side and quieter than Canggu

The flexible option for people who do not want a fixed monthly plan: pay only for the minutes you use, pick a different desk each visit. Seminyak is calmer than Canggu and close to the beach, a good middle ground if you want fewer crowds without Ubud's distance from the coast.

Choosing Your Coworking Space: Practical Tips

In short: Prioritize WiFi stability over speed, match your work style, try day passes first, be realistic about budget and live close to your coworking.

Prioritize WiFi stability over speed. 80 Mbps that never drops beats 150 Mbps that hiccups every afternoon. Test it on your first day visit.

Match your work style. Video calls all day: Canggu's professional spaces. Need people around you: Outpost in Ubud. Need a flexible pay-as-you-go desk: Biliq in Seminyak.

Try day passes first. Spend a full workday at a few spaces and notice where you are most productive.

Be realistic about budget. A monthly membership is cheaper per day only if you actually use it.

Live close to your coworking. Nomads who live nearby work more consistently; Bali traffic and heat are real.

Practical Advice for Your Bali Coworking Experience

Bring a laptop stand and external keyboard. Your spine will thank you after eight hours in tropical humidity.

Start early. By 7 AM most spaces are calm and the WiFi is at its best, and you are done by 3 PM for the beach.

Have backup internet. A local SIM with data, or an Airalo eSIM set up before you land, gives you a hotspot when the space WiFi fails.

Get to know the staff. They know about WiFi issues, quiet hours and the best places to eat.

Final Thoughts: Why Bali Works

Bali's coworking scene means you do not have to settle: BWork for professional polish, Outpost for networking in Ubud, Biliq for flexible Seminyak days, and you can move when your needs change. Book a day pass and find the space that makes you excited to work every morning.
