Logitech C920 vs Brio: Is 4K Worth It for Remote Calls?

Logitech C920 vs Brio is easy to say on paper: the C920s films 1080p at 30 frames a second, the Brio films up to 4K. For remote work calls the question is what else you get for the extra money. We read both Logitech pages and compare the facts they list: field of view, light correction, microphones and Windows Hello. The facts here are the ones Logitech lists on its own pages. Checked on 9 October 2026.

Quick answer
Just want clear calls: the C920s, with 1080p, autofocus, two microphones and a privacy shutter. Want more: the Brio, which adds 4K, a field of view you can set to 65, 78 or 90 degrees, RightLight 3 and an infrared sensor for Windows Hello. Whether that is worth the difference in price is your call: check the price on Amazon, we do not type it here. Checked on 9 October 2026.

How we compared them
The NomadsToolsLab team read both Logitech product pages and the Brio datasheet end to end on 5 October 2026, checked both Amazon pages with a US address, and went back to the maker pages and the Amazon buy buttons on 9 October 2026 to see what had changed. What surprised us: Logitech's C920s page lists no warranty term at all, while the Brio's datasheet lists three years.
Testers at Stream Tech Reviews bought the cameras they compared and filmed them under different lights. Under a lone ceiling lamp the C920 was close to unusable and the Brio grainy. In window daylight the Brio looked most natural, and under proper studio lights the C920 looked almost as good as the StreamCam. That test is from 2022 at the latest and covers the original C920 rather than the C920s. Jeremy Chapman, who says he bought every webcam himself with no Logitech sponsorship, lines up the C920, Brio 4K and newer models in his video. Every number in the table comes from the makers' own pages.

Logitech C920s: the plain 1080p camera

Logitech C920s PRO Full HD Webcam
Logitech lists the C920s with full 1080p video at 30 frames a second, a five-element glass lens, premium autofocus and RightLight 2 automatic light correction. It has two microphones, one on either side, and a privacy shutter you flip closed when you are off camera. The page also lists the Logi Tune software, where you can set zoom and field of view. We use the C920s here because it is the version with the privacy shutter that Logitech lists in its US shop.
Logitech Brio: what the extra gets you

Logitech Brio 4K Webcam
Logitech lists the Brio with 4K at 30 fps (up to 4096 x 2160), 1080p at 60 fps or 720p at 90 fps, autofocus with 5x digital zoom, and a choice of 65, 78 or 90 degrees diagonal. RightLight 3 is meant for low light through direct sunlight. It adds an infrared sensor for Windows Hello sign-in and dual omni-directional microphones, and Logitech lists a 3-year limited hardware warranty. The page lists a 1.5 m cable with a USB-A plug, or USB-C with a third-party adapter that is not included.
The Amazon listing we link is titled "Logitech 4k Webcam". Its model number, 960-001105, is the Brio's number on Logitech's page.

Is 4K worth it for remote work calls?

Choose the C920s if
You want a simple, clear 1080p camera with a privacy shutter and you do not need Windows Hello or a wider view.
Choose the Brio if
You want Windows Hello, a field of view you can widen to 90 degrees, 1080p at 60 fps, or 4K for recording.
That is our reading of the specs Logitech lists. A webcam is only part of the call: a microphone and a good place to sit matter too. See our webcam guide and microphone picks, and the remote work gear stack for the rest of the kit.

- The C920s lists 1080p at 30 fps and a fixed 78 degree view. The Brio lists 4K at 30 fps and a view of 65, 78 or 90 degrees.
- Only the Brio page lists Windows Hello and RightLight 3.
- Both have a privacy shutter and two microphones listed.
- For plain calls the C920s covers the basics. This is our reading of the specs Logitech lists.
- Check the price on Amazon on the day. It changes.
